Focusing on line, form and juxtapositions of color, Ellsworth Kelly found himself more interested in the experience of abstractions found in everyday life and nature more so than his contemporaries in the abstract art movement. The Blot Coffee table aims to follow the same curves and organic shapes that influenced Kelly’s work so heavily in hopes of paying homage to the late great artist. Made from 1 3/4” thick White Oak, the table has undergone a fuming process using ammonia to chemically produce a green undertone which pulls more details and pattern out of the wood. The top is CNC’d, the legs are produced on a lathe by hand. 34” x 36” x 12”.
